Rhyolite

Rhyolite, founded in 1904, grew to a population of 10,000 and had electricity by 1907. The bank building whose walls you see here cost $90,000. The town suffered greatly from the financial panic of 1907, the mines began to play out, and by 1916 Rhyolite was finished.

One building still standing in Rhyolite was made from 10,000 liquor bottles of which there was no shortage.

Unfinished and abandoned-- the relentless desert continues producing "ghosts".
