Hornsilver & Goldpoint

Hornsilver was founded in 1908 but lasted only about a year before the silver ore ran out. Later, after gold was discovered in the same mine, the town's name was changed to Goldpoint. Goldfield, Lida, Goldpoint, ...once booming mining towns. Goldfield had a population of 30,000 during the boom of 1906. Lida, founded in the late 1860's, still has population--but no municipal services. Goldpoint at one time had a population of about 2,000.
