DEATH VALLEY

Death Valley is the largest National Park in the lower 48 states, and about 95% of it is designated wilderness. It has 3.3 million acres of desert and mountains. www.nps.gov/deva
The desert supports nearly 1,000 native plant species.

You never know who you're going to meet. Bill Walton was cycling through the Valley on one of his annual rides through the area. Met him beside a roadside marker.
