PICKING PREP

The equipment is assembled. Bins are loaded on trailers which tractors will pull between the rows. Those are lights on the upper level of the trailer to illuminate the nighttime picking. We'll start at 10 p and work until about 5 am.

Been going flat out here preparing for the grape picking scheduled for Tuesday night. Getting equipment ready, building and painting a fourth trailer so that picking bins can be filled as they go down through the rows, then grapes taken to be crushed. All bins must be thoroughly washed, generators checked, equipment gassed up, lights double checked. Also arrangements are being made for a workforce of 20 laborers along with local friends who help. Can't afford any breakdowns or glitches, so preparation is key.
