VALLEY of FIRE

Valley of Fire--some of the most spectacular scenery so far. Nevada's first state park has protected these formations created 150 million years ago by shifting sand dunes, winds, and other geologic activity including uplifting and faulting. Very interesting info at http://parks.nv.gov/vf.htm.

"Beehives" were formed by wind and water erosion.
Cabins built by Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's for travelers' use.

Ancient peoples left painted designs still visible today.
