CANT GET ENOUGH SF

Last few days just spent exploring more SF. Experienced slight earthquake last evening--little shake, nothing fell. Was 4.4 on the Richter scale.

Will be posting a variety of scenes, highlights, and cool places in the SF area.

Tony B. has it right....

All kinds of variety....

Beauty....

Old and new....

City of contrasts...

Al fresco in Frisco...

And on the water...

St. Francis Yacht Club

Golden Gate Yacht Club

Dome is Palace of Fine Arts

Steep streets...

No label needed...
could only be SF

One of world's crookedest streets
Flowers abound--even amidst concrete

Garage in triplicate

Shopping in SF....

Adventures in food...

All kinds of mushrooms

Beautifully restored Victorian houses known as San Francisco's "painted ladies".

Is it outdoor wall art...

...or is it graffitti

or both ?

And only a few blocks from downtown, there's......

Funston Beach in the Sunset Neighborhood beach area of SF. Updraft coming off the ocean makes it ideal for hang gliding...and No, I didn't, but it's on the list. See http://www.flyfunston.org/primer.php.

Cable cars--an SF icon. Here's a look at some of the machinery that makes them go.

Sutro baths were opened in 1896. The remains of these public baths are adjacent to the Golden Gate National Recreational Area and are fascinating. They were opened by an eccentric San Francisco mayor, Adolph Sutro. More info at: http://www.outsidelands.org/sutro_baths.php.

Also, http://www.nps.gov/goga/clho/index.html is a great site for info about the whole Golden Gate area.
